Dayabhai belongs to a traditional weaver’s family who migrated to Bhujodi, a weaving village in Kutch. Dayabhai worked under a master weaver and earned his livelihood by weaving traditional and contemporary designs for over 25 years.In 2008 Dayabhai took Kala Raksha Vidhyalaya (KRV)'s year-long design course, and learned to innovate within his tradition. He gained confidence in his capability as a creative artist, and learned confidence to take creative risks. In 2010, Dayabhai joined KRV as a core faculty member, and since then he has taught design to traditional artisans, and conducted weaving workshops for international students. Today, Dayalalbhai is a multifaceted personality- a master weaver, educator and entrepreneur of his venture, Forline recognised nationally and internationally.
