This Ajrakh hand block printed stole is a masterclass in tonal subtlety and botanical detail, embracing a serene earthy palette of moss green and muted teal. The body of the stole is adorned with a flowing "floral vine" jaal, where delicate blossoms and leaves intertwine in a rhythmic, organic dance. Developed using the legendary 16-step Ajrakh process of Kutch, Gujarat, this stole is crafted from premium breathable cotton, offering a soft tactile feel and a graceful, effortless drape.
The design is defined by its regal transition from the intricate floral field to a high-contrast, tiered border. The ends of the stole feature a series of large-scale circular medallions, each meticulously hand-stamped with complex geometric and floral interiors. This leads into traditional geometric "patti" bands and fine borders that frame the artisanal narrative with classic elegance. The precision of the hand-carved wooden blocks is evident in the sharp registration of the medallions, which anchor the fluid vines of the body. Hand-finished teal tassels provide a refined touch of movement and contrast.
The unique color palette is achieved entirely through organic processes: the mossy greens and golden-earth tones are extracted from pomegranate rinds and turmeric, while the teal accents are a result of natural indigo fermentation. These natural pigments provide a multi-dimensional depth of color that is gentle on the skin and environmentally sustainable, ensuring the accessory grows more beautiful with time. The high-quality cotton ensures year-round comfort, making it an ideal accessory for adding a touch of heritage craft to a professional blazer, a neutral linen dress, or a casual weekend look.

The origin of Ajrakh can probably be older than we can imagine. Excavation sites of Indus Valley Civilization give evidence that Ajrakh was possibly one of the oldest printing methods the Indian subcontinent.
The etymology of “Ajrakh” can be traced to the Sanskrit word “a-jharat”, which means that which does not fade. Since indigo is one of the main colours of this textile, it is possible that Ajrak got its name from “Azrak”, which means “blue” in Arabic.
