This Mulberry silk Ajrakh dupatta features a sophisticated olive-green and teal-blue field, adorned with a dense geometric "star and clover" jaal. Developed using the heritage 16-step Ajrakh hand block printing technique of Kutch, Gujarat, this piece is crafted from premium Mulberry silk, offering a luxurious sheen and a smooth, fluid drape that elevates the intricate artisanal details.
The central field is a masterclass in mathematical symmetry, featuring interlocking geometric clover forms and star-like negative spaces. This complex jaal is framed by a distinctive, multi-tiered border featuring bold stripes of madder red and a wide black edge, typical of high-end traditional Ajrakh compositions. Each detail is meticulously hand-stamped using hand-carved wooden blocks, requiring exact registration to maintain the rhythmic flow of the pattern across the silk.
The earthy olive and teal tones are achieved through natural dye processes using pomegranate rinds and indigo, while the striking red is derived from madder root. The deep black accents are created from fermented iron mordants. These natural pigments interact with the lustrous Mulberry silk to produce a rich, iridescent quality that changes subtly with movement and light.
The Mulberry silk base ensures that this dupatta is both lightweight and substantial, providing a regal fall that is perfect for weddings, traditional festivities, or as a statement piece in a luxury wardrobe. The fabric is skin-friendly and breathable, ensuring comfort without compromising on style.

The origin of Ajrakh can probably be older than we can imagine. Excavation sites of Indus Valley Civilization give evidence that Ajrakh was possibly one of the oldest printing methods the Indian subcontinent.
The etymology of “Ajrakh” can be traced to the Sanskrit word “a-jharat”, which means that which does not fade. Since indigo is one of the main colours of this textile, it is possible that Ajrak got its name from “Azrak”, which means “blue” in Arabic.
