These murals depict women wearing dotted tie-dye bodices, remarkably similar to present-day Bandhani. The intricate ornamentation, graceful postures, and musical instruments suggest they are women musicians and dancers from the golden era of Indian history.
Today, tie & dye—locally known as Bandhani—is a flourishing craft practiced widely in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
